METALMARK BUTTERFLY VESSELS
These vases are inspired by the endangered Metalmark butterfly. I used spalted maple wood with a cherry stain to mimic the black patterning and orange on the butterfly’s wings. The naturally occurring splits in the wood were filled in with a silverized epoxy to reference the metal specks that the butterfly is named after.
